A tiny update

I’m on a mission to make Tiny Startups the #1 launch platform and a much needed alternative to Product hunt. The last 30 days have been our biggest yet with over 11.3k unique visits to the launchpad. My next goal is 20k uniques and I’m certain we’ll hit that milestone.

A big thank you to all of you for your continued support, I couldn’t have done this without you. Hit reply and let me know if there’s anything I can do to support you.

Siya just sold his first SaaS at 18

The SaaS was GenPPT — an AI PowerPoint generator that helps you turn any idea into a polished and professional presentation. He launched back in May 2024.

I’ve read reports that claim his ARR was in 6-figures with over 45,000 users though I’m not sure how much he finally sold it for. Still a pretty cool achievement regardless of the exit price.

Announcing the acquisition on X seems to have paid off dividends as well — Siya gained over 5k followers since the announcement. Building in public can be such a powerful tool to build an audience.

Bhanu made $16,723 in May

Bhanu runs a portfolio of tiny startups with SiteGPT being the largest (shared above) and made $16,723 in May. Some really solid numbers and bound to increase once his newer projects MCPify pick up.

Competition is a good thing

Too many founders worry about the competition when they’re coming up with ideas and preparing to launch. Competition can be a good thing — it means the idea is already validated and the market wants / needs what you’re building and is willing to pay for it.

On the other hand, I would be very worried if there was no competition.

Lera hit $17k MRR in May

Lera runs Clipwing (shared above) that helps you “create dozens of short clips from your raw long videos in minutes”. She struggled to grow the app side of the business until she decided to pivot to a productised service model / video agency. The business now makes over $17k MRR with 5 editors employed (and $6k profit). Super impressive.

Sergey crossed $3k in revenue

Sergey is building Screen Charm — a cool app that lets you create screen recordings with zoom effects. There are a few similar apps out there (Screen Studio is probably the largest) but it’s cool to see an indie maker building an alternative and making a decent income from it. So far 117 people have paid $29-$49 for a “lifetime” license in ~2 months since launch.

Li just hit $500k in total revenue

Li runs a “tiny” design studio and hit $500k in total revenue. Her top 5 tips:

Distribution > Product/Services
Network > Website traffic
Trust is built over time
Series A > Seed > Bootstrapped
System is everything
